Fred Gray

Fred Gray is a civil rights attorney, preacher, and activist from Montgomery, best known for litigating several landmark civil rights cases in Alabama, some of which reached the United States Supreme Court. He represented both Rosa Parks and victims of the United States Public Health Syphilis Study at Tuskegee. He was educated at Montgomery’s segregated Loveless School until 7th grade, and then the all-Black boarding school Nashville Christian Institute.
